A forecast drop in tourist numbers and lack of credit to car-hire companies to replace their fleets means that the number of cars available for hire is set to drop from 50,000 to 30,000. That may be good news for motorists on Mallorca's busy roads but it probably will mean that the cost of car hire will suffer a hefty increase. With banks unwilling to lend, most car hire companies will not be laying on any new cars this year so expect a few more banhgers on the roads too. |
